The Australian Cruiser Tank *1st Edition*

The development and production of the Australian Cruiser Tank during WWII is rarely discussed in comparison with tank production in other countries like Russia, The USA and Britain. Australia’s output of tanks was miniscule compared with these countries. Comments about the Australian Cruiser Tank were less than positive, and the tank production was cancelled in 1943

Drawing on valuable information from the Australian Archives, this book shows the positive side of tank production in Australia and of the capacity of the Australian Cruiser Tank itself.

This comprehensive book has been written by The Australian Armour & Artillery Museum’s very own Assistant Manager – Jason Belgrave.

Jason was a member of the Australian Army from 1989 to 2014 and spent 12 years in the Royal Australian Armoured Corps on the Leopard AS1 and Armoured Command Vehicles, followed by another 12 years in the Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps in the Repair Parts Store. Jason also served overseas as part of Operation Catalyst in Baghdad in 2007 as part of the Force Level Logistics Asset in Baghdad.

Jason has worked at The Australian Armour & Artillery Museum in Cairns since 2014. He can describe his job as a hobby as he is given the privilege of being able to drive all the running vehicles in the Museum.
